First off, our apologies for the bad audio last week.

But this week we make it up by talking about James Gandolfini and run down some of the roles he was best known for.  This one hurt both Ben and Steve as we were big fans of the Sopranos and also found out that we both had a favorite movie that he was in.

We talk a bit about the actors that we kind of put our trust into when it comes to seeing their movies.  These character actors will make Steve interested in the seeing a movie but Ben won’t let it slide.  There’s a lengthy discussion on the merits of seeing a movie based on supporting actors when it looks like it could be bad.  Is it worth rolling the dice?  Or does the house always seem to win?

And then there’s the Pledge of Allegiance.  Steve read a Facebook post this past week that warranted to some research and found out some interesting facts about the ole Pledge.  Why do we need to say it?  And are there people abusing it?

Finally, we take a quick look at Paula Deen.  Racist or not?  We have a very very brief discussion.

We begin and end with an homage to the Sopranos.  Enjoy and stay tuned because Steve is going to drop some news soon and you don’t want to miss it.

This week on the Real BS Podcast, Ben and Steve welcome Ana back to the show. Ben and Steve break down the latest Superman flick and debate whether it was good or if it failed miserably. What was good about it? What was bad?

Ana saw This Is The End and explains why it’s good and defends a little misleading facebook post regarding her thoughts on the movie.
They all discuss when a movie gives away all the best parts in the trailer and commercial and how it distracts when seeing the movie.

Then it’s on to TV shows. The trio debate the question of “If a show if good, will you inadvertently be disappointed at the conclusion?” There’s talk on the Sopranos, Lost and Seinfeld and debate if Dexter or Game of Thrones will meet the same fates.
Next week on the Real BS Podcast…we’re not sure. But listen to this one and, of course, listen to the next one!

It’s another weekday Real BS Podcast. (As Cheech Marin said in Ghostbusters 2, “Better late than never”)

Over the weekend Ben went the Orion Festival on Belle Isle where he saw Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more hipsters, rockers and men’s butts then he cared to see.

Nonetheless, we spend the podcast talking about this music festival and the best ways to pull yourself out of the job market.

There was little time for much else but the stories are entertaining and the pictures on Facebook are enlightening.

Next week we’ll break down Man of Steel and discuss entertainment, news and daily life on the Real BS Podcast with Ben and Steve.

Welcome to another episode of the Real BS Podcast with Ben and Steve.

Lots of movies going on during this podcast.  For instance, Ben saw Star Trek Into Darkness once again and gets on Steve’s case because he hasn’t seen it yet.  Both Steve and Ben saw Hangover III and report back their reviews going beyond the ones posted online on Facebook.

Steve saw a couple movies on Netflix that warranted some criticism and we then go in and talk some TV.  Specifically, Arrested Development and other shows hitting the streamwaves.

Ben and Steve discuss the entertainment of their childhood and how it’s all being remade.  Ben’s friend brought up the raping of their childhood and Steve disagrees.  What brought this discussion to light?  Well, Ben isn’t too happy about John Williams not composing the Man of Steel film.

There’s a film called Nymphomaniac coming out…and we actually have seen some of this director’s previous work.  We talk art films briefly!

There’s a brief discussion on Lena Dunham and Angelina Jolie and how brave these two feminist leaders are.  Steve has some choice words for Lena.

Happy Memorial Day to all the Vets out there…both military and the doctors who take care of our pets.

On this week’s Real BS Podcast with Ben and Steve we talk about a lot of movies. From Star Trek Into Darkness to Cloud Atlas, we go through what made these movies good or bad and why we should and shouldn’t see it.

How are your allergies? Ours suck so of course we have to spend some time complaining about this beast of an allergy season and how its been wreaking havoc on our bodies.

Ben has the chance to see Hangover III well before us mere mortals so we get a review on that one for sure next week along with the experience of going to a press screening.

Becky chimed in this week and brought up the ending of such shows as The Office as well as local radio personalities Drew and Mike. But these morning shows? Are they any good or worth having around.

No holidays this week but sit by your computers, enjoy the Real BS Podcast and hang tight for the Memorial Day Podcast next week.

Happy Mother’s Day all you Real BS Podcast listeners!  While we don’t talk a whole lot about moms we do talk a whole lot about movies and music.

Steve saw 3 movies he wanted to bring up.  The Great Gatsby, Hyde Park on Hudson and Not Fade Away.  Some were great and some were far from it.  He also gives his two cents on the TV series: The Bible.

Ben checked out a little movie called Moonrise Kingdom and discusses its similarities to other Wes Anderson movies.

There’s a little sidetrack conversation about British accents in ancient times.  Did the people in the B.C. era speak with British accents?

We breakdown Billy Ocean’s fantastic music video Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car.  Then we talk about mom songs in the music section.

And just when you think the podcast is going to end, discussion gets launched into Facebook and paying it forward, then to political posts about 2 pages that are from the nice pay it forward posts.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

On this Real BS Podcast Steve and Ben open up talking about Steve’s birthday and the mediocre food as well as unorganized tables at the bar they went to. Steve gives the reasons and shares some of his gifts he received. Steve also plugs his book and recommends people buy “My Funny Old Soul Mate”.

Then they break down Iron Man 3. Of course, Steve’s review is more about the shenanigans at the theater as opposed to the movie itself. They eventually talk about what they liked and disliked about the movie and what other films they are interested in seeing in the near future.

Ben brings up Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark as Steve and Ben try to figure out what the lyrics mean and how they should send the Boss some anti-depressants.

Finally, there’s the “Narcissist of the Week”. A new feature highlighting the people who think of themselves and what they think is important over the welfare of the people. This one’s a doozy.

Thanks for listening. Like us and rate us on iTunes and we’ll see you next week.

Steve and Ben are together on the 41 episode of the Real BS Podcast.  They kick back on Steve’s couch and discuss some highlights of their recent vacations.
Steve went to the Riviera Maya for his honeymoon and found out about a little thing called Montezuma’s Revenge and the joys of being part of an All-Inclusive resort.
Ben went down to Texas where the stars at night are big and bright. He’s noticed some changes since his last trek to the Dallas area and shares.
Ben and Steve then discuss Boston and the marathon bombers as well as some new (and old) Facebook phenoms that need to end.  We love/hate social media.
‘Til next week…
